Privacy policy
Last updated: 2026-04-19
This policy describes how Appcellent ("we", "us") handles information in
connection with the Volume Booster — Loud Bass EQ iOS application (the "App")
and the website at thevolumebooster.app (the
"Site"). Our goal is simple: we collect as little as possible, and we never sell
personal data.
The short version
- Your audio stays on your device. The App processes the files you play locally; it does not upload, stream or store your music.
- The App does use third-party services for analytics, install attribution and subscriptions. They are listed in section 4.
- The App does not require you to create an account.
- We do not sell or rent personal data to third parties.
1. Information collected by the App
Your audio. The App plays audio files you select and applies gain, bass and equalizer processing to them on your device. Audio is processed locally in real time. We do not upload, copy, stream or retain your files, and we cannot hear what you play.
Media library access. To play your own music the App asks for permission to read your media library. That permission is used only to list and play the tracks you choose. The App does not request access to your contacts, photos, camera or precise location.
Usage analytics. The App records product analytics events — which screens are opened, which features are used, and subscription lifecycle events — so we can understand which parts of the App are useful. These are described in section 4.
Standard App Store telemetry (crash reports, download counts, aggregate usage statistics) may be collected by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy. We receive only aggregated, anonymized reports and cannot tie them back to an individual.
2. Information collected by the Site
The Site is a static marketing website. It does not require registration and does not set tracking cookies. Your browser may make standard requests (HTML, CSS, images, fonts) served via our content delivery network (Cloudflare), which may process your IP address for abuse-prevention and routing purposes under Cloudflare's privacy terms.
If we enable Cloudflare Web Analytics, aggregate page-view information is collected without using cookies or fingerprinting and without transmitting IP addresses to us.
3. Contact form and email
If you email us at [email protected], we will see your email address and the content of your message. We use that information only to respond and retain it no longer than necessary.
4. Third-party services
- Apple App Store. Distribution and in-app purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
- RevenueCat. Manages subscription state and entitlements. It receives a pseudonymous app user identifier and purchase events from Apple in order to tell the App whether your subscription is active. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
- Mixpanel. Product analytics inside the App — which screens and features are used, and subscription events. Events are tied to a pseudonymous identifier rather than your name or email. See Mixpanel's privacy policy.
- AppsFlyer. Install attribution — telling us which campaign or link an install came from. It processes device and campaign identifiers. See AppsFlyer's privacy policy. On iOS, tracking that requires the App Tracking Transparency prompt only occurs if you grant permission.
- Cloudflare. Hosting and content delivery for the Site.
- Self-hosted fonts. Typefaces are bundled with the site — no third-party font CDN is used.
- Google Analytics 4. Aggregate, IP-anonymized web analytics (page views and a custom
download_clickevent for "Download the App" buttons). No advertising features are enabled. Google may set first-party analytics cookies; you can opt out by enabling Do Not Track in your browser or by using Google's opt-out add-on. - AppsFlyer (via OneLink). The "Download the App" buttons route through an AppsFlyer attribution link before opening the App Store. AppsFlyer records the click for install-attribution purposes; details are governed by AppsFlyer's privacy policy.
5. Children
The App and the Site are general-audience products. They are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
6. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR or California under CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we collect so little, most requests can be fulfilled quickly. Email [email protected] to exercise any of these rights.
7. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the limited information we process. No system is perfectly secure; please contact us immediately if you believe you have found a vulnerability.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new "Last updated" date at the top of the page.
